This is one of the best edible Christmas party jokes and games around!
Here's what you need: Dozens and dozens of gingerbread men, women, Santas, reindeers; a chalkboard on the wall; chalk; a stopwatch; pre-made cards with phrases like the ones below, in a pile turned face down.
- I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
- Ho, Ho, Ho
- Santa Sees You When You're Sleeping
- Reindeer Droppings
- Tiny Tim
- Island of Misfit Toys
- Little Cindy Lou Who
- Santa's Workshop
- Up on the Rooftop
- Frosty the Snowman
Here's how you play: For each round, one person is the timekeeper, another is the player. The rest of the partygoers get to be the audience. Timer—start the stopwatch as soon as a card is taken. Player—take a card off of the top of the pile.
Based on the phrase you draw, prepare your gingerbread first. You can break or bite pieces off or use more than one gingerbread if needed. For instance, break a gingerbread man's leg to make Tiny Tim. After your gingerbread is the way you want, draw on the blackboard to supply an additional hint if you'd like. For Tiny Tim, draw a crutch on the chalkboard.
Now put it all together and using your gingerbread, act out the phrase on the card as quickly as you can. For this example, take Tiny Tim and lean him on the crutch. Player—yell "ready" to let everyone know they can start guessing your phrase. Audience—start yelling out words and phrases. Winner—is the person who yells out the correct phrase. Winnner of that round then becomes the next Player.
The Grand Winner is the person who has acted out the most cards in the shortest amount of time. Keep in mind Christmas party adult games get funnier and funnier as the spiked eggnog flows!
All of these games I have played for years. I've played kid versions at family dinners to pass the time while waiting for food. I've also played teenage versions in cars while carting youngsters around on Saturday nights; it's a great way to find out what's going on in their world. And now I play adult versions with friends to try new cocktails and laugh our butts off. Adult party games for Christmas are all about the booze!
These Christmas games for party fun work best around the dining room table after dinner. And now for the silliest Christmas party jokes and games, with a twist (pun intended; I like lime).
Here's how it works: Start with a topic, like "Christmas tree", and then try to find out what your guests really think about that topic. For example, to find out what's on their minds when it comes to decorating the tree, give them the choice of homemade or store-bought decorations. They pick one, and then you give them another choice, then another choice.
It could go something like this: store-bought or homemade decorations...homemade decorations or garland...garland or lights...white lights or colored lights...colored lights or tinsel...tinsel or ribbons...ribbons or bows...bows or...
Here's when you drink: This is one of those Christmas party jokes and games that's played fast. It's all about answering off of the top of your head and blurting out the first thought. The last person to answer drinks.
Here's how it works: As Christmas party group games go, Endings and Categories can keep a whole room full of people busy. Use a Christmas word to start and be prepared to defend it. Remember, it has to have a Christmas connection.
The next person has to respond with a Christmas word that starts with the same letter as the last letter of the word that was just said. It could go something like this: Santa...angel...Little Cindy Lou Who...Oh Tannenbaum...mistletoe...
Here's when you drink: It works the same for both this game and the next. With Endings and Categories, if a person can't come up with a word or phrase, he or she takes a drink and then starts the chain again. Each word or phrase can only be used once.
Here's how it works: Pick a category (see below for suggestions) and go around the room with each person adding something that fits that category.
- Christmas Decorations
- Christmas Characters
- Winter Activities
- Christmas Foods
- Christmas Movies
- Christmas Greenery
- Christmas Toys
- Winter Items
- Christmas Songs
Here's when you drink: It works the same for both Endings and Categories. If a person can't come up with a word or phrase, he or she has to down a drink and then start the chain again. Each word or phrase can only be used once.
Kill, Marry, Sleep With
This is the most hilarious of all Christmas party jokes and games!
Here's how it works: Write each trio below on a separate card. Go ahead and add your own Christmas-related combos to the pile. Each person then takes a card from the pile—no peeking!
Now get ready to hear which of the trio that person would kill, which he or she would marry, and which lucky one the person would sleep with. Nothing is funnier than listening to people's rationale for each choice. Feel free to mix and match the names below. The possibilities, along with the laughs, are endless.
- Rudolph, Santa, Mrs. Claus
- Frosty the Snowman, Scrooge, Jack Skellington
- The Grinch, Mary, Jack Frost
- Joseph, the Little Drummer Boy, George Bailey
- Clark Griswold, Hermey, Elf
- Mary Bailey, Sally, Ghost of Christmas Future
- Clarice, Belle, Ellen Griswold
- Bob Cratchit, Jacob Marley, Shepherd
Here's when you drink: The entire time. I know, you never knew Christmas party jokes and games could be so much fun!
