Now that you've gotten everyone started with our questions, see what questions your guests can throw out—and answer!
...Silver and Gold, Silver and Gold, Everyone Wishes for Silver and Gold. I don't know if you've ever tailgated, gone to the beach, or had a barbecue. Chances are if you did you may have played a game of washers, a game very much like horseshoes. The only thing you have to do special for this game is spray paint half of the washers gold and the other half with Rustoleum.
Here's what you need: 2 washer "pits", boxes with cups in the center of them; 4 gold washers; 4 silver washers.
Here's how you play: Stand behind one of the boxes and take turns tossing your washers at the other box, trying to get the washers in the cup. Score 1 point for every washer that lands in the box and 3 points for every washer that lands in the cup. The first team to get to 21 points wins.
Unique Christmas party games that develop a real marketable skill are few and far between. Give me a man who can untangle a ball of Christmas lights in record time and get them all to light, and I'll show you a man who's got mad skills.
Get this rousingly unique Christmas party game started by taking 5 strands of lights and rolling each one into a ball with knots, twists, and tangles. Hand the balls to 5 of your guests and start the clock. The first person to untangle his or her strand wins the round. The 5 contestants re-roll their strands into a ball with new knots, twists, and tangles and pass them to your next 5 guests. Keep going until everyone has had a turn once.
The winners of each round now face off to see who is the grand champion. Only one hitch: the lights have to work. The game is not over until the lights are plugged into a handy dandy power strip. The first one to be both untangled and lit wins. (A good prize is a Christmas bubble nightlight.)
This game will test your guests' wrapping abilities. Find 2 or 3 of the oddest shapes you can think of and have a wrapping contest. We all know people who can't wrap a simple square box. Imagine the contortions folks will go through trying to wrap your weirdly shaped items!
Make sure you have lots of wrapping paper, tape, and ribbon on hand. Any of the following objects are a terrific starting point for the wrapping challenge:
- Wiffle ball bat
- Stuffed teddy bear
- Tennis racket
- Kiddie chair
- Bottle of shampoo
- Pink flamingo
- Hair brush
- A live plant
- Baseball cap
- A pair of shoes without a box
Vote on the most beautifully wrapped package. Don't forget the bows. The winner of this unique Christmas party game gets a basket of wrapping paper, tape, bows, and tags. Someone's gonna get some exquisitely wrapped gifts this year!
